Busol Liquid Coagulant is a solution of a colorless, high molecular weight sludge conditioner used in both medium and low pressure boilers to prevent sludge deposits. It is especially useful when feedwater becomes contamined by oil. Dosing Busol Liquid Coagulant to the boiler coagulates the oil droplets causing these suspended solids to settle to the low points of the boiler where they are removed by blowdown.

Busol Liquid Coagulant is “slug-fed” at a dosage of 28 mls.( 1 ounce, 1/16 pt) per day for each ton of water capacity. For systems experiencing severe oil contamination, off-line cleaning may desirable. Consult your Busol representative for chemical application on off-stream cleaning. After the equipment is cleaned, Busol Liquid Coagulant is dosed at 28 mls. per day per ton of water capacity for 2 weeks or until complete oil removal is accomplished. If severity of contamination persists, then investigate once again oil leakage into the system.

Busol Liquid Coagulant may be dissolved with other boiler treatment chemicals and fed directly to the boiler by means of a by-pass pot feeder or suitable chemical Injection pump. For low pressure boilers, the solution may be dosed to the hotwell or the condensate return tank.
