BUSOL EVAPORATOR TREATMENT is a neutral; poly-electrolyte based liquid and is this one of the most effective evaporator additives. The use of BUSOL EVAPORATOR TREATMENT prevents scaling caused by the salts in hard water (such as carbonates and sulphates). BUSOL EVAPORATOR TREATMENT is effective up to temperatures of 160oC. This product will also gradually remove any existing deposits. BUSOL EVAPORATOR TREATMENT will not corrode stainless steel, carbon steel, Muntz metals, glass, rubber, plastics, painted surfaces, alumunium alloys.

In the production of fresh water in seawater evaporators, there are many opportunities for scaling to occur. In the evaporator, the seawater is heated to the required temperature and is then condenses and is collected as distillate. Since, however, the seawater contains large quantities of salts in solution, it is understandable that the heating and evaporation will very rapidly lead to scaling of the heat transfer surface in the installation. The scale deposits build up until a thick layer is formed which lowers plant efficiency by severely impairing the transfer of heat. This in turn considerably reduces the output of the installation. Scaling is prevented by the use of BUSOL EVAPORATOR TREATMENT. Any sediment, which is formed, can be removed by purging and flushing with water.

BUSOL EVAPORATOR TREATMENT is diluted with seawater or fresh water and is continuously injected into the evaporator. A dosage of about 30 cm3 per ton of distillate is recommended for the prevention of scaling in seawater evaporators. The total dosage of BUSOL EVAPORATOR TREATMENT to be used depends on capacity and the operation condition of the evaporator. The product should be injected via the evaporator inlet or the salt water supply line. The normal injection procedure is to use dosing tank containing  sufficient ready diluted BUSOL EVAPORATOR TREATMENT for 24-hour continuous operation N.B. For the gradual removal of existing scale deposits, at least twice the normal dose must be used.

Light brown coloured, neutral liquid, Miscible with salt and fresh water in any proportions. Odorless, non-inflamable. Contains no volatile components: in practical terms non-toxic when ingested in a single dosis. Remains fully effective to 160oC. Does not corrode stainless steel, carbon steel, Muntz metal, glass, rubber, plastics, painted surface, alumunium and alumunium alloys.
